The colors worked, so it becomes a story

 He was a beautiful red dragon, but a dragon none-the-less

 He agreed to put on the ringmaster costume and go do it til they found a replacement

Baroque wings can be heavy

Yes, working very well... you have to really watch out for those heavy wings, they can get to be a bit like scope-creep. (!)
The wondering/knew ladies made me smile. -J
